Kara is a pediatric clinical specialist with an assistive technology professional certification who works primarily in the pediatric intensive care unit at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. She also specializes in neuromuscular disorders, serving as lead therapist in the multi-disciplinary Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Spinal Muscular Atrophy clinics. She performs neuromuscular research, collaborating on investigator-initiated grants and performing functional outcome measures for clinical trials. She is adjunct faculty in the Belmont University DPT Program teaching pediatric and neurologic content. She serves as Vice Chair of the PCS Prep Committee and on the APTA Acute Care Webinar committee.
