Melissa Martinez is a third-year Doctor of Physical Therapy student at the Medical University of South Carolina. Prior to attending graduate school she worked as a certified Spanish Medical Interpreter in Greenville, SC. She has a passion for learning about how to best use medical interpretation as a tool to ensure all members within a community have equal access to health care. Through her research she hopes to help identify barriers that exist with current use of interpretation modalities within different patient populations.
