8:30 AM – 5:00 PM CST
Location: Ballroom B, 2nd Floor, Hilton Omaha
Day 2 of The CO-OP Approach preconference course provides more case examples, videos, and practical application of CO-OP. Participants will experience collaborative goal setting, dynamic performance analysis, cognitive strategy use, guided discovery, and enabling principles to help their classmates learn a new skill in the session. The second day allows for more discussion and modeling of strategy use to cue patients with performance difficulties to succeed in performing the everyday tasks and activities that are important to them and their caregivers. Participants will continue to enhance their usage of Goal-Plan-Do-Check to allow patients to actively problem solve and develop strategies for meeting their functional goals. Towards the end of the course, participants have the opportunity to tailor the CO-OP Approach intervention to their caseload by discussing the different settings CO-OP has been utilized such as in small groups, camps, school classrooms, telehealth, and more.
Learning Objectives:
Define the 7 key features of CO-OP
Perform a dynamic performance analysis and use guided discovery and strategies to teach a new motor skill
Implement the global strategy of Goal-Plan-Do Check to integrate CO-OP into your current practice
