Scoliosis Basics: Evidence-Informed Approach to Understanding and Treating Patients with Scoliosis (Day 2)

This is a two-day lecture/workshop on educating and improving a physical therapist’s clinical decision making in the examination, evaluation, goal setting, treatment planning, treatment execution, and treatment modification for patients with scoliosis using evidence-informed literatures, guidelines, and recommendations.
Learning Objectives:
Screen for scoliosis as recommended by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Academy of Pediatrics, Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeons of North America, and Scoliosis Research Society.
Develop and execute effective, evidence-informed intervention programs to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and postural alignment for patients with scoliosis.
Apply principles of patient safety, including modifications of basic exercises and activities of daily living.
