Scoliosis Basics: Evidence-Informed Approach to Understanding and Treating Patients with Scoliosis (Day 2)

This is a two-day lecture/workshop on educating and improving a physical therapist’s clinical decision making in the examination, evaluation, goal setting, treatment planning, treatment execution, and treatment modification for patients with scoliosis using evidence-informed literatures, guidelines, and recommendations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Screen for scoliosis as recommended by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Academy of Pediatrics, Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeons of North America, and Scoliosis Research Society.
  • Develop and execute effective, evidence-informed intervention programs to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and postural alignment for patients with scoliosis.
  • Apply principles of patient safety, including modifications of basic exercises and activities of daily living.
